ERIS-Simulation beats record
Over 108'000 persons have downloaded since last week the so-called Eris-Simulation from the CSCS's youtube channel. The simulation allows a first glimps into the birth of the Milky Way and was presented by astrophysicist Lucio Mayer and team to the media last week. The new results were partly calculated on the computer of the Swiss National Supercomputing Center (CSCS) and show, for instance, that there has to be stars on the outer edge of the Milky Way.
Furthermore the simulation was honored by youtube as one of the science and technolgy section's top favorite of the month.
